Tieto promotes Norwegian boss

Software provider Tieto has announced a change in its Central, Eastern Europe and Russia market unit (CER) and appointed Kolbjørn Haarr (born 1960) as executive vice president, CER, as of June 27, 2012.

In addition to his new responsibility for CER market unit, Haarr will continue to head the Norwegian business and will be reporting to president and CEO.

Current head of CER market unit Wim Huisman has decided to leave the company.

Haarr has a wide experience in IT services industry due to his long career in companies such as SAP and Hewlett-Packard. Prior to joining Tieto, he led Western European technology services business for Hewlett-Packard in 2005 – 2009, and held several other director positions within the company. He graduated from the University of Stavanger in engineering sciences specialized in biometrics.

Michael Sundell appointed vice president, Technology of Vroozi division

NetSol Technologies, a provider of global IT and enterprise application solutions, has appointed Michael Sundell as vice president, Technology of its e-commerce division, known as Vroozi.

Sundell will lead all technology activities in this division. He brings to the company extensive knowledge and expertise in scaling big data and search engine technologies.

Previously, he was lead software engineer at Shopzilla, one of the largest B2C price comparison shopping websites, where he was responsible for managing the SEO (search engine optimization) development team. Prior to this, he was director of engineering at JamboTECH, a software engineer at Digital Boardwalk and Treyarch, and technical director at Unique Development Studios.

Khan pointed out that the B2B e-commerce market continues to grow, and represented $3.6 trillion of goods and services exchanged among businesses in 2011 alone in the US.
